Terms of Service (As of March 2026)

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • By installing, accessing, or using the btns.ai Chrome extension ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

  • btns.ai is a Chrome sidebar extension that provides one-click AI-powered buttons for summarizing, studying, and interacting with web content across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and any webpage. The Service includes AI-powered content analysis, video playback controls, study tools, and Google Drive import/export functionality.

  • Any version updates come at no additional charge. Your prior folder configurations and all of your customized buttons are import automatically.

3. Account Requirements

  • A Google account is required to use btns.ai.

  • You must sign in using Google OAuth to access the extension's features.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.

  • Account sharing across multiple users or devices is not permitted.

  • Session policy:

    • btns.ai may be used across multiple browser tabs on the same device, but only one device may be actively logged in per account at a time.

    • Logging in on a new device will automatically end the session on any previously active device.

  • You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service.

4. Subscription & Billing - btns.ai operates on a subscription model with usage-based AI billing:

  • Monthly subscription: $4.99/month for access to the extension, paid upfront.

  • AI usage: Billed separately based on your actual token consumption. AI costs are metered and billed in arrears on the following month's invoice (see pricing page for details).

  • Payment processing: All payments are handled by Stripe. btns.ai never sees or stores your payment card details.

  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.

  • Refunds: Subscription may be canceled at any time, but prior charges for intended use is non-refundable. AI usage is not refunded.

5. Acceptable Use - You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the extension.

  • Use automated tools or scripts to abuse the Service or circumvent usage limits.

  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service.

  • Use the Service to violate the terms of service of any third-party platform (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.).

  • Intentionally overload or disrupt the Service's infrastructure.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Your Content
    You retain full ownership of all content you process through btns.ai and all AI-generated outputs produced for you (such as summaries, flashcards, study guides, and other results). btns.ai claims no ownership rights over your content or your generated outputs.

  • License to Use the Service
    Subject to compliance with these Terms, btns.ai grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the btns.ai browser extension and related services solely for your personal or internal business use.

  • Patent Protection
    Certain aspects of btns.ai technology may be subject to pending or issued patent applications. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of patented or patent-pending technology may constitute infringement under applicable patent laws.

  • Technology Licensing
    The underlying technology, systems, and methods used by btns.ai may be made available for licensing to third parties at the sole discretion of btns.ai. No license or rights to use btns.ai intellectual property are granted except for the limited right to use the service as described in these Terms. Any commercial use, integration, redistribution, or licensing of btns.ai technology requires a separate written agreement with btns.ai.

  • Our Technology
    The btns.ai extension, including its software, code, design, algorithms, interface, branding, documentation, and related materials, are the intellectual property of btns.ai and are protected by copyright and pending patents. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the service except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

7. AI Processing & Third-Party Services

  • AI features are powered by third-party AI providers. Results are generated in real-time and are not stored by btns.ai.

  • btns.ai does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI output.

  • Google Drive exports use the Google Drive API under the drive.file scope, which limits access to only files created by btns.ai.

8. Disclaimers

  • THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

  • btns.ai does not warrant that:

    • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free for all use cases.

    • AI-generated results will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

    • The Service will be compatible with all websites or platforms.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, btns.ai SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

  • btns.ai's total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time

  • btns.ai reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms

  • Upon termination, your locally stored data remains on your device. You may request deletion of server-side account data (email, subscription status, usage counts) by contacting us.

11. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

  • These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
